Announcing the Passing of John Livingston

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Mr. John Livingston, Vice President of Operations at Houchens Food Group South. During his 10 years with the company, John was a dedicated and respected leader, playing a vital role in guiding and supporting his stores. John was an industry veteran whose grocery career began at his hometown Piggly Wiggly when he was just 16 years old. In a full-circle moment, he later oversaw the operations of Piggly Wiggly stores, along with Food Giant, Pic-N-Sav, and other brands within the South Division.

When he wasn’t working, John enjoyed the outdoors and cheering on his beloved Alabama Crimson Tide football team. His greatest accomplishments, however, were his family: his wife of 34 years, three children, and one grandchild. John will be deeply missed by all, and we are forever grateful for his contributions to our company.
