Melissa Anderson & Albany Kentucky Hometown IGA 2025 IGA USA Retailers of the Year

Melissa Anderson and Hometown IGA store #17 of Albany, KY is named as one of eight IGA USA retailers of the year. The awards are the highest honors the Independent Grocers Alliance (IGA) bestows upon its retailer members and are presented annually to grocers who have best provided leadership and excellence in their communities. Melissa Anderson will be bestowed her award as she takes the stage along with other USA and international winners at the 2025 National Grocer's Association's conference in Las Vegas, Nevada in February.

Fellow 2025 IGA USA Retailers of the Year awardees include

  • Dave's Fresh Marketplace of East Greenwich, RI. Dave Cesario and William Hogan were nominated by Bozzuto's, Inc.
  • Orono IGA or Orono, ME. Bob Craft and David Pike were nominated by C&S Wholesale Grocers.
  • Nam Dae Nun Farmers Market of Duluth, GA. Yong Kim was nominated by MDI Wholesale.
  • Todd's IGA Express of Trenton, OH. Todd and Sarah Daniels was nominated by Laurel Grocery Company.
  • KJ's Market of Waynesboro, GA. Jorge Evans was nominated by W. Lee Flowers.
  • Save More Marketplace of Minocqua, WA. Brian and Julie Krueger was nominated by UNFI.

Melissa Anderson was nominated by Houchens Food Group after securing the honor of our first annual Store Manager Appreciation Awards (SMAA) overall store winner. This coveted top honor takes into consideration financial and subjective goals including EBITA and our important mission of local community connection.
